Job Description

The bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. The bartender is also responsible for upselling items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties; ensuring that (s)he follows the safety company’s procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
  • Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials; according to their preferences and protecting them from any allergies that they may have
  • Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
  • Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
  • Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked.
  • Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
  • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
  • Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
  • Consistently offer a professional, friendly and engaging service to the clients addressing their needs, as occur
  • Ensure full knowledge of all food and beverage menus – as to consult when the client asks for advice
  • Deliver checks and receive payments, according to the catalogue agreed
  • Always aspire to up-sell additional products and services
  • Preparation of alcohol or non-alcohol drinks and beverages in accordance with standard recipes, protecting clients from any allergies
  • Inventory and ordering procedures
  • Perform opening and closing duties of the bar and working area as needed
  • Checking identification to ensure guests meet alcohol legal age requirements, protecting the company
  • Follow company’s policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow and support the shift supervisor according to the requirements that may be raised
  • Perform any other task, related to his/hers area of expertise and requested by the line manager

 

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Turkish national
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills (local language and English)
  • Proven working experience as a Bartender for minimum 2 years in 5* Hotels or High-End Restaurants
  • Demonstrating a high level of organization, attention-to-detail, and a sense-of-urgency
  • Displaying a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Previous point of sale system experience


Additional Requirements:

  • Additional knowledge of languages will be considered as a plus
  • Experience outside Bodrum will be considered as a plus
