• Candidates will take part in approved KOSGEB and TUBITAK projects. Within the scope of the projects, academic consultancy is received from the Middle East Technical University and Boğaziçi University.
• The opportunity to work remotely will be provided.

Required Qualifications

• Understanding of computer vision approaches with application to object detection and recognition. 
• Having knowledge of semantic segmentation and instance segmentation. 
• Experience with transfer learning. 
• Good knowledge of Python and/or C/C++. 
• Having knowledge of the design patterns and anti-patterns. 
• Being familiar with Linux environments. 
• Having knowledge of the building machine learning models to deliver scalable solutions to business problems. 
• Ability to apply existing methods as well as invent new algorithms to solve problems. 
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and successfully implement them is essential.
•  Working independently and in an hands-on manner.
• Strong linguistic background and analytical mindset.

Preffered Qualifications

• Experience in convolutional neural networks such as R-CNN, Fast R-CNN, Faster R-CNN, YOLO. 
• Experience with a face detection toolkit such as OpenCV’s Haar cascades and/or deep learning-based face detector, Dlib’s HOG and/or CNN face detector.
• Experience with OCR. 
• Master’s degree (in progress or completed) or PhD (in progress or completed) in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, computational linguistics, or work experience of minimum 2-3 years. 
• Having related scientific publications.
  

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work on: 

• improving the readability quality of text images, 
• detection and recognition of personal information such as the face, fingerprint, signature in the image, 
• face detection and recognition in video using mainly computer vision and deep learning methods.
