QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Founded in Istanbul in 1991, Mavi designs a full collection of jeans-wear, for young women and men. Mavi, Turkey’s first global fashion brand, has been the leading jeans brand in Turkey for the last 20 years. Mavi is now sold at over 5500 specialty stores, department stores and specialty chains in 35 countries including the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, Netherlands, Russia and Turkey. Mavi has 20 showrooms and over 406 retail stores with flagship stores in New York, Vancouver, Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Dubai, Moscow and İstanbul.  Apart from its own retailing network, Mavi is available at leading international chain stores including Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, Lord&Taylor, Peek&Cloppenburg, and David Jones, and is sold next to premium and high end brands.

Mavi’s philosophy is to build a brand around perfect fitting jeans that convey a Mediterranean feeling in terms of fashion and detail. “Maviterranean” is exotic, inspirational, contemporary and accessible.  Mavi, which means “blue” in Turkish, is known for high quality, great fitting and fashion-forward premium denim that not only fits the bodies of its customers, but also their lifestyles and quality expectations.

With the approach of “design carries the product to the brand”, Mavi cooperates with designers and consultants from all over the world and has a multi-cultural designer team based in İstanbul. Most famous and successful jean designer Adriano Goldschmied, queen of best-fits Venucia de Russi, Rıfat Özbek, who designed his first jeans collection for Mavi, Hussein Chalayan, who designed his first collection with a Turkish brand, are some of the world famous designers that Mavi has already worked with.

We are seeking a highly collaborative, persuasive “Category Associate” who will add value to our Global Category team. The Category Associate will be responsible for developing our men’s category strategy through a combination of data analytics and a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and interests.  This is a highly collaborative role that will partner across the global category team as well as cross-functionally with Sourcing, Design and Product Planning department to deliver and accomplish highest quality of business standard.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably from Textile Engineering or related field,
  • 3-6 years in retail merchandising, fast fashion industry or business setting with related experience,
  • Expertise in working with men or women category management,
  • Passion for growth, as well as consumer and market understanding,
  • Attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication ability with strong and consistent follow-up skills,
  • A strong desire to win and drive independent collaboration with relative cross-functional teams/individuals,
  • Highly collaborative working style and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment,
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks,
  • Creative and innovative problem solving,
  • Good command of both written and spoken English,
  • Good level of MS Office applications. 


İŞ TANIMI

  • Reporting to Category Director,
  • To be aware of global trends in the related field and make resources,
  • Develop and present seasonal/weekly merchandise financial plan and sales budget as unit-based, value-based and profit-based in accordance with company goals, historical performance and market trend analysis,
  • Identifying customers’ opportunities, demands and expectations preferences for the responsible category,
  • Revising the monthly budget by sales forecasts and managing OTB,
  • Analyze data to strategize profit growth opportunities for the responsible category,
  • Managing the seasonal inventory and budget with operations that discount, promotion, dispatch and RPT-order decisions,
  • Constantly monitor and report category sales and promotion, tracking new product performance,
  • Prepare reports by reviewing sales performance indicators regularly,
  • Collaborate across departments to drive category goals,
  • Researches and monitor competitors in terms of pricing and product innovations. 

Preferred Candidate

3 - 6 years of experience
Bachelor’s(Graduate), Master’s(Student), Master’s(Graduate), Doctorate(Student), Doctorate(Graduate)
English(Reading : Advanced, Writing : Advanced, Speaking : Advanced)
