QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Qualifications:

·         A likeable, open-minded personality with a high degree of empathy and professionalism

·         Good judgment and discretion working with highly confidential information

·         High level of commitment and independence

·         Excellent communication skills

·         University degree in Psychology is a must preferably with an additional Diploma in Clinical Psychology

·         A recognized qualification as a Counselor/Psychotherapist, with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.

·         Good command in English (both written and speaking)

·         Strong communication and negotiation skills

·         Solution-orientation skills

 

Experience:

·         Fully accredited membership of a recognised professional body or organisation which is governed by a recognised code of ethics and disciplinary process (i.e. IACP, ICP, APPI, PSI etc.).

·         Experience working with a variety of clients reflecting a wide range of clinical presentations including anxiety, depression, potential traumatic stress reactions

·         Experience working with clients using short terms models of therapeutic intervention, particularly CBT, brief therapies

·         Good knowledge of adult education methods in the field of Mental Health

·         Experience in the planning, design, monitoring & evaluation, and implementation of MHPSS programs, including experience in PTSD cases.

·         Experience of screening clients & carrying out initial screening appointments, and follow up recommendations

·         Previous experience delivering counselling within a corporate setting

·         Previous experience working for an Employee Assistance Programme

·         Experience in management of mental health programs/services (including team management)

·         Experience in capacity building (training, coaching and supervision processes)

·         Provision of confidential brief therapeutic support

·         Focus on debriefing, goal setting, psychoeducation, and development of supportive action plans

·         To conduct risk assessments and implement risk management plans if needed

·         To utilise current supports available to employees through Majorel Wellness Framework

·         Facilitate psychoeducational group work as needed

·         Operate within all policies, procedures and guidelines of the service.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Offer day to day support and monitoring of the overall wellbeing of employees (e.g. face to face, by telephone and e-mail) who are experiencing difficulties with work related content and exposed to highly challenging material they are seeing each day, but not exclusively as other type of support might be beneficial (eg: stress management, burnout, time management, etc.

·         Work with personnel to identify and manage presenting issues, support the personnel in developing coping strategies, making appropriate wellness and lifestyle modifications that will affect their overall wellbeing

·         Coordinate surveys among personnel for emotional impact analysis – implementation of changes based on the results obtained

·         Conduct resiliency training during on-boarding and refresher trainings as needed

·         Conduct 1:1 session with personnel in person as needed or requested. The 1:1 session will not be mandatory but should be scheduled for tracking purposes

·         Availability to conduct wellness check-in throughout an employee’s tenure with the program

·         Facilitate psychoeducational group sessions- e.g. emotions management, resilience, stress management, mental health awareness

·         Sessions should be team specific and possibly gender specific opt-out group sessions. These groups are not depth oriented psychological groups. Rather, they are more akin to teambuilding, resilience, work related issues awareness. Intent being to change the stigma associated with group sessions. Size of group counselling sessions should be small. Since these are team specific sessions, there will be multiple sessions occurring and not one large session.

·         Assisting managers to assess and address pressing matters that can be so different like building and enhancing team dynamic, performance management, employee engagement increase, motivational work or how to approach an issue of emotional nature with an employee without feeling uncomfortable;advising managers on relevant topics of health-conscious leadership, e.g. through seminars or workshops

·         To conduct risk assessments and implement risk management plans if needed

·         Drafting wellness coaching reports for management review (maintaining client confidentiality)

·         Manages referrals to professional health partners
