Responsibility and competence to provide legal support to the organization in all legal aspects (incl. commercial business support matters, data privacy matters, corporate and M&A), supporting business strategy and assuring compliance with corporate guidelines and local law.

• Works at country and business unit level in Fresenius Medical Turkey as a business partner to ensure that there is consistency and understanding of Turkish management’s needs and advice while at the same time ensuring overall Eastern Europe and EMEA regions’ goals and strategies.
• Manage a wide range of transactional legal business support matters, including contract review, drafting and negotiation.
• Expertise in drafting and negotiating various M&A and corporate law agreements and arrangements (e.g. Share Purchase Agreements, Asset Purchase Agreements, Letters of Intent, Due Diligence Reports, Shareholder Resolutions, etc.) as well as (ancillary) commercial agreements and arrangements.
• Ability to communicate commercial law as well as transactional and structural cornerstones of a deal throughout the EMEA region to EMEA legal team, management and other international clients
• Advising the management, business and general operations directly on all legal aspects, incl. in the following areas:
• Commercial law incl. public procurement law
• Corporate law
• M&A
• Data privacy law
• Engages, coordinates and manages external lawyers as required.
• Assures legal compliance with Fresenius Medical Care’s corporate guidelines, compliance and governance policies and implements supporting processes and controls together with local and regional compliance department as well as EMEA legal team.
• Develops new ideas and methods to effectively address recurring legal issues.
• Supports the continuous improvement of standard agreements, contract templates and legal processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

• University degree in Turkish law
• Meets local legal license requirements; admission to Turkish law association/bar or equivalent
• Legal training and/or experience in the USA or UK, respectively, preferred
• 3-5 years of relevant post-qualification experience of legal practice advice, as an in-house counsel of an internationally/global acting enterprise and preferably with some years in internationally advising law firm.
• Advanced level of experience in one or more general or specialty law practice areas acquired through being a leading resource in-house or in health industry or law firm environment.
