QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities


Plan, direct, and monitor all purchasing activities to ensure that all goods, materials, supplies and services the organisation buys comply with specifications and meet the quality and corporate standards. Plan, direct, and monitor all purchasing activities to ensure that all goods, materials, supplies and services the organisation buys comply with specifications and meet the quality and corporate standards. 


Purchasing and Supplier Management (70% of time)

  • Analyse, evaluate and confirm all supplier proposals and quotations for all goods, materials, supplies and services and ensure that they meet standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
  • Negotiate prices and delivery conditions with suppliers, such as transport service providers and car rental companies. Secure terms with suppliers that are in Evonik’s best interest.
  • Collect and evaluate all inventory requests, purchase requisitions, orders, and other documents to ensure they align with the organisation’s current and anticipated demand for goods and services.
  • Follow-up the status of purchase orders with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and communicate the status of orders with internal customers.
  • Check incoming supplier invoices and liaise with the finance team as required. Communicate with suppliers to pro-actively resolve problems with the timeliness or quality of supplies.
  • Prioritise work and tasks to ensure that all targets and deadlines are met. Ensure all records are accurate and maintained and kept in accordance with Company policy. Provide routine and ad hoc reports to the management team and head office as required.

Car Leasing Management (30% of time)

  • Oversee the company’s car leasing activities and agreements to include car rental agreements for new and existing policies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the car suppliers and maintain contact to ensure contract repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Effectively handle car fleet related enquiries from employees. Process any claims and information requests in relation to driver accidents. Liaise with insurers as required. Provide advice to employees on organising local repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure all records, including driver license records, are accurate and maintained and kept in accordance with Company policy.


Experiences | Requirements | Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Economics
  • Several years of experience in purchasing
  • Fluent in English, good knowledge of German is a plus
  • Good knowledge in SAP MM-PUR
  • Good knowledge in MS Office Tools (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Strong communication, multitask and problem-solving skills
  • No military obligation for male candidates
