Eaton's Hydraulic Business has an opening for a:

New Product Development Engineer

 Primary Function:

The Engineer will be working with various levels of Technicians, Engineers and/or Chemists.  Examples of these groups include the Laboratory, Product Applications, Engineering Services, Support Engineering, Development Engineering, etc.  The person in this position has a wide area of technical expertise in Fluid Conveyance products and processes. This person continues to be responsible for his/her own projects, working in close cooperation with PRO Launch(Project Management) team. Engineering judgment, and approval of documents.  This position reports to the NPD Team Leader.

Essential Functions:

•       Responsible for new product development, qualification testing and introduction into production of Hydraulic products
•       Establish Project Scorecard measures to review progress, evaluate results, and initiate change
•        Work as a Researcher in R&D center projects and to keep track of project cards.
•       Develop and implement VA/VE product cost reduction projects
•       Support team on a specific strategy which provides direction for his/her specific responsibility and is linked to FC Engineering Strategy.
•        Support and engage on processes to improve team efficiency
•       Work within an Engineering organizational structure that supports the FC Engineering Strategy as well as the local geographic needs
•       Has a high focus on safety in his daily work on act as a role model in the team.

Are you?

Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical & Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent appropriate experience is required.
• Advanced level of English speaking, writing and reading. The second language is preferred.
• Technical knowledge about Rubber, PVC and Thermoplastic materials. That includes product design, test and evaluation, material properties and specifications and the manufacturing methods and processes.
• Proficient application of the core project management tools/principles, industry best practices and recognition for project management expertise. Successfully leads multi-functional project teams
• Proficient application of core Engineering tools/ principles, industry best practices and recognition for technical expertise (Core Ex.:  Design Rules, DFMEA, Writing Test Reports, Testing, Eng. Drawings and Std's, applies Robust Design, etc.).
• Statistical Process Control knowledge –Minitab knowledge is being preferred
• Effective communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with functions outside of Engineering for the common good of Eaton.

Eaton has announced it has reached an agreement to sell its Hydraulics Business to Danfoss A/S. This transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2020 and this position is expected to remain with the Hydraulics Business and would transfer to Danfoss A/S. upon close.  The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices.  If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Hydraulics Business when the transaction closes, Danfoss A/S will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time
