JOB DESCRIBTION

We offer different positions in all areas of biopharmaceutical product development dealing with Recombinant DNA -and Mammalian Cell Culture Technology. Highly motivated and skilled scientists can apply for different positions in the field of Process Development as these are: Cell Culture & Fermentation, Protein Purification, Physicochemical and Immunochemical Testing, and Pharmaceutical Development. We are seeking for experienced personnel as well as those recently graduated with a strong scientific background and a high degree in their subject.

Following duties among others will be part of your role:

• Applying Molecular Biology and Cell Cultivation methods for the development of recombinant mammalian cell lines and their cultivation for the production of Monoclonal Antibodies. Understanding of vector design, transfection methods, PCR, blotting techniques, cell cultivation etc.
• Cultivation of mammalian cell lines in shake flask and bioreactor systems. A well understanding of aseptic processing, cell metabolism and hands-on experience with bioreactors.
• Purification of proteins using different chromatography methods by applying Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography systems.
• Filtration of proteins using different filtration methods in particular Tangential Flow Filtration systems.
• Applying a variety of analytical techniques for the characterization of proteins and other substances. Experience with liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, surface plasmon resonance, ELISA, Mass spectrometry, Cell-based assays  and other analytical techniques.
• Evaluation of scientific papers, patents, preparation of presentations and reports.
• Scale-up of biopharmaceutical production processes, process optimization and process validation.  
• Working in a GLP/GMP environment, establishing SOPs and working in the highly regulated area of Biopharmaceuticals production.
• Management, personal and project responsibility for positions with leadership experience. 

The potential candidates should provide a strong background and ideally experience in following:

• High Degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy or similar scientific qualification 
• Advanced degree is desirable; MSc or PhD will be considered in particular
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus
• Good knowledge of the recombinant gene-to-protein process
• Well understanding of proteins especially monoclonal antibodies
• Proficient in experimental design, technical problem solving and continuous improvement
• Experience in conducting experiments autonomously and to interpret results independently
• Strong interest in learning new methods, problem-solving attitude, and an innovative mind 
• Highly organized and capable of running a number of projects in parallel 
• Self-motivated, pro-active, responsible, strong analytical thinking, result-oriented and an excellent team player 
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English are desired
