Environmental and Sustainability Engineer

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in a similar position
• Having cement, iron-steel, glass or similar industry experience is an asset
• Good knowledge of environmental legislation and environmental technologies
• Good communication and persuasion skills
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary environment
• High learning agility, analytical skills, high persistence
• Being mobile to travel all Akçansa plants and facilities in Turkey when required
• Advanced level of English (both in written and in spoken English)
• Having driver licence (B class) and active driving skills

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Hold official responsibility of Environmental Engineer at Akçansa Plants (Cement, RMC, AGG, Ports) when required
• Follow-up and reporting of environmental KPI’s of the plants
• Develop projects for environmental efficiency at plants
• Follow-up best practices all industries, coordinate/support the implementation of them
• Conducting environmental trainings
• Involving in ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, bringing in and taking part in improvement projects
• Managing the communications with Environmental Ministry of Environment and Local Environmental Authority by frequent/regular visits
• Follow-up national and EU legislations, preparing company assessments for legislation drafts, reporting impacts of legislation changes risks/opportunities for company
• Coordinate sustainability committee meetings, info sharing and follow up progress of company sustainability targets
• Data collection for sustainability and CDP reports, and consolidating the reports
• Developping and active participation in companys Corporate Social Responsibility projects
• Supporting the development of sustainability and environmental related awareness tools
• Communication with stakeholders (i.e. business associations and NGO’s) and represent the company in their projects
